CCF Disaster Preparedness

Tuesday, January 8, 2019, 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Burlingame Corp Yard, 1361 North Carolan Ave., Burlingame
Pre-registration is required - click here.

This basic disaster preparedness class will teach you how to prepare yourself, your family, home and workplace for a major disaster. The information provided will allow you to help yourself, rather than needing help, following a disaster.

Course instructors are experienced staff of the Central County Fire Department which serves the Cities of Burlingame, Millbrae and Town of Hillsborough.

This class is offered free to all Burlingame, Hillsborough and Millbrae residents.

"Hillsborough’s official adopted unit, HHC 1BCT 101st Airborne said goodbye to their families at Ft Campbell, Kentucky and are now arriving in Iraq—mission-focused, well trained, and looking at a long year ahead. Your continued support to them will be appreciated. Feel free to drop off items, cards/letters, and donations for postage at Hillsborough Town Hall or Police Department. Checks may be made payable to Hillsborough Adopt-a-Unit."

Questions: POC LeAnn Thornton, Hillsborough Police Department, Lthornton@hillsborough.net, 375-7450.

Our Town's Public Works offers delivery service of up to 10 bags per address if a resident calls our main number at 375-7444. The Town asks that residents who request sandbag delivery provide 7 days advance notice so Public Works can route the delivery vehicles for efficiency. Residents can also pick up sandbags at the Corporation Yard (1320 La Honda Road) or at Town Hall (1600 Floribunda Avenue).

Hillsborough City School District

"Thank you to all our educators, families and friends who were able to participate in one of our four visioning sessions for the Hillsborough City School District. One of our next steps is to hold a visioning session with a group of Crocker Middle School students and to also reach out to our upper elementary students for input. Our Visioning Task force team comprised of educators and parents will take all the information shared on our graphic records and will begin the process of developing a draft vision and mission statement for our district. We are excited about the work ahead and thank you for your wonderful partnership in support our schools."
